Beyond the Flowers
This painting is inspired by a tree in the Peak District that is 2000 - 3000 years old. This tree is so large for the churchyard space it occupies that one can barely get a view of the whole tree in it's entirety. The circumference of the trunk is about 32 feet around. It might have been larger, but historically, villagers and visitors would carve out pieces and take them away. Now there is a fence surrounding it to prevent stealing away parts of this living monument.
This painting is oil on linen on panel, and is 50 x 40 inches. It is meant to be installed on included french cleat.
